‘Kingdom of Solomon’ to become series

Shahriyar Bahrani, director of the religious epic ‘The Kingdom of Solomon the Prophet’ has said that he will be making a series based on his highly successful movie.

In a recent interview, Bahrani stated that he has pitched his new project to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting corporation and they are currently in the consulting phase.

Having studied Animation at the London Film Academy in the UK, Bahrani began his career with ‘Sepah’ television group.

The filmmaker has directed numerous films and series including ‘Flag Bearer’, ‘Crossing’, ‘Attack on H-3’, ‘The World Upside-Down’, and his 2008 classic ‘The Kingdom of Solomon the Prophet’.

Bahrani has also directed the movie and the series ‘Saint Mary’.

‘The Kingdom of Solomon the Prophet’ was Bahrani’s third religious epic, and upon completion of the series, will be the second time he has created a series based on a previous movie.

The film depicts the story of Prophet Solomon, king of Judah and the son of King David, who asks God to grant him the ideal kingdom. But for this to happen, he has to face a world filled with evil and an imminent and brutal war.

When the leaders of different Israelite tribes reject his call for help, disaster strikes. Solomon is then faced with a world of evil, threatening his kingdom, followers, and even family…

The films cast featured Amin Zendegani, Mehdi Faqih, Elham Hamidi, Mahmoud Pakniyyat, Zahra Saeedi, Hossein Mahjoub, Javad Taheri, and Alireza Kamali-Nejad.
